Barberan news in Ligna 2013

Barberan, the greatest woodworking machinery manufactuer in Spain, presented some novelties to the visitors during Ligna 2013. The most important novelty was the digital printing line for panels up to 1260 mm width that included the surface preparation and UV finishing process by roller. This line presented two novelties. 

First, the MDF board was coated using the machine MENH which applied the product HotCoating from the company Kleiberit. This new hotmelt product is an evolution of the usual transparent version as it includes a high grade of pigmentation that allows to cover perfectly surfaces like PB or MDF, appart from the extraordinary mechanical properties that the board can achieve exclusively with this product. This is the way to apply base coat on a surface in only one pass and minimum space requirements. Conventional systems need the application of different products using 3 or 4 roller coaters and their corresponding drying systems. Once the surface has achieved a regular color it needs also a UV primer. This primer was specially developed to achieve prints of maximum quality as it enhances the colors and improves the resolution optimizing the expansion of the dot and the substrate's absorbtion properties. 

The great novelty was the digital printing machine “Single Pass”, model BIJB-1260. This fully updated system brings the digital printing technology a step further. The huge power of this system and the use of UV inks allows to produce printed boards of maximum quality at high speeds. The machine can print boards of 2,44 m x 1,22 m at 55 m/min with an exceptional resolution and color range.

Another great novelty presented at the show was the laminator LC with Barberan's e-coating technology. This is the first machine of the new E-series, which supports more efficiency and ecology. The laminator LC was designed to replace environment harmful UF equipments and reduce the consumption of natural resources. This is the first step of this spanish manufacturer to be a step ahead before european rules in matters environment protection enter into force. This first model includes technologies that allow a higher economic efficiency and the total absence of toxic emanations.

The laminator LC was specially designed to replace the harmful UF glue for hotmelt glue which does not generate pollution.
